Gone

A Poem

And then she was gone
Into the darkness
Never to return
I knew I would never hold her
Let alone let her graceful thoughts
Stir me up as a little feather on an updraft
She was the light at the end of the tunnel
Which game me its warm glow
After years of search in sullen gloom
There was a part of my life ebbing away
I felt naked at the core
Stripped of a layer of my sanity
Making me kind of sore
I knew not if the gap I could fill
Whether till I die I live with this
There was no telling either of which
She was gone
Never to return
Into the darkness
Leaving me alone
